JumpInChat update — backups and fixed profiles
This week has been all about fixing up the profiles and setting up database backups, something that was sorely needed for a while now. Some bugs in the profiles were fixed, such as them failing to load, having profile pages making the site think you were logged in as someone else and having them crash the site entirely. Essentially the result of previous overzealous development.
Database backups on the otherhand took the majority of the week but are finally implemented and should prevent any further data loss. They’re conducted everyday at midnight EST, which should give a decent amount of protection. Sadly it was too late for a number of existing user accounts, but ah well.
Next set of things to do will be around room settings, such as being able to make rooms unlisted or password protected, as well as being able to set room mods in a list. Making use of room profiles in the chat app itself is also on the current to-do list.
As always, testing still needs to be done so create a chatroom and invite some folks and talk and stuff.
