JumpInChat update — Still Alive, also a room list.

Hey guess what, this thing is still being built. I’ve done some stuff in the last months, albeit hidden away in the shadows. Mostly it’s server improvements, but some more feature work and client improvements are being worked on. Work will be a bit slower than before, as I’ve not got the time to work on this as much as I’d like, but progress is being made nonetheless. Check it out!

Server improvements are, for the most part, moving all the services into their own server instances, which should allow everything to run more reliably when more than a few people use it. Aside from this, the means to actually deploy the server is also improved and should be quicker and easier.

Some first steps to update the client have also been made which should, hopefully, make everything more maintainable. This probably has zero impact on you actually using it, but it was a rather necessary step to make sure I can improve it in the future.

Lastly, an actually feature that can be useful. A room list has been added to the home page so room discovery is actually possible. It’s a pretty basic implementation so far, but once things like room avatars or cover images are able to be added I’ll use those in a way that makes it way cooler.

I’d add cam previews but that’s hard.

I’ll try and update when there’s stuff to actually talk about. This probably won’t be regular but keep an eye out.

As always, testing still needs to be done so create a chatroom and invite some folks and talk and stuff.
